I have worked in the mental health field since 2009 and have been an independently licensed mental health counselor since 2013. I’ve worked in schools, crisis centers, college campuses, and previously had a private practice in Ohio where I saw children, adolescents, and adults, and provided clinical supervision. When I previously lived in Rhode Island, I was also a Qualified Professional Test Counselor and provided HIV testing and counseling.
I am a humanistic person-centered mental health counselor who provides feminist and multicultural counseling. This means that my focus is on you and your experience. You are the expert on you. I provide, as a foundation, unconditional positive regard to you, which means I do not judge you for your beliefs, values, identities, and experiences; and I seek to understand who you are and how your experiences impact your life. Based on what you share with me, I use a multitude of evidence-based techniques to help you reach your goals. If it seems our work together is not a good fit, I am happy to help you identify potential providers who may better fit your needs. Your counseling experience is about you!
